County volleyball squads are set to begin battle this week, with hopes of seizing a sectional title clearly on their minds.
Teams from North Putnam, South Putnam and Cloverdale will compete at the Class 2A Sectional 46 at Covenant Christian beginning today.

First up for the county schools will be the Cougars doing battle with Tri-West at 6 p.m. today. South Putnam will take on Cascade in the first game Thursday night, with Cloverdale against Monrovia to follow.

In the Class 3A Sectional 29, the host Greencastle Tiger Cubs received a bye and will not be in action until Saturday at 11 a.m. Their foe will be either Sullivan or South Vermillion who play each other today at 7 p.m.

Admission for the games will be $5 per session or $8 for the entire sectional. Greencastle's athletic passes are not valid for the tournament at GHS.
