Competition tough at Greensburg

The Batesville Lady Bulldogs kicked of a tough two-day stretch of golf on Friday at the Greensburg Invitational.

Sixteen teams converged on Greensburg Country Club to compete for the invitational title.

The Richmond Lady Red Devils emerged as the champions with a team score of 318.

Columbus North placed second just one stroke back with a 319. Greensburg was right in the mix as well with a third place total of 321.

The Batesville Lady Bulldogs were 10th overall with a 431.

Lawson Sitterding led the Lady Bulldogs with an 18-hole score of 98, which included nine hole totals of 49 on each side.

Hannah Fullenkamp was second on the team with a 103 followed by Kelsey Fullenkamp with a 109.

Brooke Bedel (121) and Brittany Weigel (128) rounded out the scores for Batesville.

The Oldenburg Academy Lady Twisters placed 15th at the tournament with a team score of 539 strokes.

Ellen Buening led Oldenburg with a 129. Other scores for the Lady Twisters were Katy Miller (134), Mary Kate Irrgang (136), Gretchen Junker (140) and Sara Lierman (140).

The Lady Pirates were led by Chelsea Scheidler and Megan Gindling with scores of 73. Hillary Miller carded an 86 followed by Kasey Kilgore (89) and Domingo (91).

North Decatur was 11th in the field with a team score of 442. They were led by Tara Lecher with a 107 and Abby Stewert with a 109.

Joining Greensburg’s Scheidler and Gindling with a the low round of the day was Witherby of Richmond. Taylor Grohn of Columbus North was fourth with a 74.
