Football Sectional Final

Sectional Finals Friday and once again I agree with many who are much smarter than I about these topics, that winning a Sectional football championship is the hardest tournament to win.
Think back to the last two Fridays and recall how weather played a crucial role in the outcome of a number of games. If you are a spread offensive team, you got no breaks from the weather. However, we now have forty teams playing a championship, and as you would expect, there really are no easy opponents at this stage of the season.
Best game of the night could be the match-up in Sectional 25 with 2A # 4 Wheeler at #5 Rensselaer Central.
Also, another very evenly matched game is in Sectional 28 where Northwestern is at Lewis Cass, both teams tied at # 10 in the 2A Coaches poll.
All five number ones are still alive, and three of them have games against ranked opponents: 5A #1 Carmel hosts #5 Hamilton Southeastern (which you can watch right here on IHSAASports.org at 7:00pm), 3A #1 Chatard is at #8 Brebeuf Jesuit, and 2A #1 Ritter is at #15 Speedway.
Great games all over the state, so make sure you get out and support your local kids. Also, big week for Volleyball, with the Finals at Ball State this Saturday. You can watch the championships on our website live, or check out the archives.
Have a great weekend, and listen to Indiana Sports Talk for all of the scores after the games.
