NEW MARKET — Minus a few key cogs, the Southmont softball team marches on.

After losing junior pitcher Jami Addler and freshmen outfielders Shanna Brown and Jessica Kinkead due to a school policy violation, the first-time sectional winners will head to Mt. Vernon (Fortville) High School June 6 for the Mounties first round regional game with either Roncalli or Beech Grove.

Those two teams square off 2 p.m. Saturday at Roncalli.
The Mounties (18-7) will face the winner 1 p.m. June 6. The regional championship will be decided at 7 p.m. Saturday between the winner of New Palestine and Batesville versus either the Mounties or the Roncalli sectional winner.
