Noble bound for state

Chris Noble of Niles fired a 1-under-par 71 to earn medalist honors at the Division 2 Gull Lake boys golf regional. Saturday at Bedford Valley Golf Course in Battle Creek.

Noble earned an individual berth in the state tournament June 5-6 at the Meadows Golf Club in Allendale.

Ryan Nash of St. Joseph shot a 2-over 74 for second place overall and will also advance to the state finals as an individual.

The top three teams from the regional advanced to the state finals.

Niles was ninth as a team with a score of 332 and St. Joseph tied for fifth with a score of 322.
