The Fishers and Westfield high school baseball teams are among squads participating in the Baseball Strikes Out K-ancer program started by the Indiana High School Baseball Coaches Association.

The two teams meet at Westfield at 2 p.m. Saturday.

Each team will donate $5 per run scored and $10 for each home run, with donations also collected in the stands.

The Baseball Strikes Out K-ancer program, started at the suggestion of New Haven coach Dave Bishoff, encompassed 70 games last season, raising $11,000 for the American Cancer Society.

Churubusco coach Mark Grove suggested cancer be spelled with a K, the score-keeping symbol for a strikeout.

Players and coaches for Fishers and Westfield will wear pink warm-up shirts to call attention to the fight against breast cancer, and the umpires and coaches will wear light blue hats for the fight against prostate cancer.
