Sectionals
Date: Saturday, noon.
Admission: $5.
Advancement: The top six place winners in each event advance to the regional tournament; the top six place winners in the all-around competition advance to the regional tournament. The three teams compiling the highest number of points at each sectional shall advance as a complete team to the regional tournament.
Connersville Sectional
Teams: Cambridge City Lincoln, Connersville, Franklin County, No. 5 Hagerstown, Morristown, No. 6 New Castle, New Palestine, Richmond, Rushville, South Dearborn, Tri.
Morristown: Even though this sectional features the fifth-and-sixth-ranked teams in the state, no program carries more momentum into the tournament than Morristown. In the last month of the regular season, the Yellow Jackets broke the program record for highest team score three times, ending with a 103.325 in their last meet against Cambridge City on Monday. Last year, the Yellow Jackets finished fourth in the sectional with a 95.85, behind regional qualifiers Hagerstown (107.85), New Castle (106.1) and New Palestine (98.525). Morristown expects to secure its first-ever team regional berth Saturday.
Krista Berry, a sectional and regional champion last season, holds every school record, and she'll lead the team into the sectional.

Warren Central Sectional
Teams: Decatur Central, No. 15 Franklin Central, Franklin Community, No. 19 Lawrence Central, Noblesville, Perry Meridian, Plainfield, No. 8 Roncalli, Shelbyville, Southport, Tindley, Triton Central, Warren Central.
Shelbyville: One of the deeper sectionals in the state, a score of at least 100 is usually required to secure a top-three finish at Warren Central. The Golden Bears' top score this year is 96.275, set in their last meet, but coach Jan Anderson isn't giving up hope. "There's always a possibility," said Anderson, pointing out that the Golden Bears beat five of their sectional opponents in the regular season. "I think we could get out if everybody hits their routine and stays on the beam." Lauren Boring and Paige Durphey will compete in the all-around, while Megan Cory (beam and floor), Alexis Ayres (bars), Emily Coffey (bars), Halle Boring (beam, vault and floor) and Megan Smith (vault) will soar in a variety of events. Lauren Boring has a good chance at advancing individually on the bars, her strongest event. The junior finished 11th on the bars at the sectional last year, .4 points away from a top-six finish.
Triton Central: The Tigers' two gymnasts will compete individually. Hannah Glackman will battle on the vault, balance beam and floor exercise. Ashley Kern will compete in the all-around competition. Both girls will be competing in their first sectional. "I do think they will be nervous, as well as, sad to see the gymnastics season end. But they are both glad they had the opportunity to compete their senior years," Triton Central coach Tammy Kern said.
