Viking swimmers take down Marion

The Huntington North swim teams traveled to Marion Tuesday to take on the Giants.

In the boys’ meet, the Vikes lost just one event to win 108-72.

Ryan Rethlake, Skyler Ruschhaupt, Chris Royer and Daniel Scher won teh 200 medley relay in 1:50.70.

Royer, Marion, Phillip Zook and Casey Dubuc won the 200 free relay in 1:38.71.

Scher, Marion, Rethlake and Russchaupt won the 400 free relay in 3:39.02.


Ruschhaupt won the 200 individual medley in 2:10.28 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:05.41.

Scher picked up wins in the 50 free (:22.75) and the 100 free (:50.92).

Marion won the 200 free in 1:55.83. Royer won the 100 butterfly in 1:03.30 and Dubuc was first in the diving competion with 210.15.

The Lady Vikes were edged out by Marion 97-88.



Mariah Patrick, Cassie Hacker, Kaitlyn Batt and Sara Karst teamed up to win the 200 medley relay in 2:07.01.

Patrick, Hacker, Batt and Karst also won the 400 free relay in 4:11.79.

Individually, Patrick won the 100 backstroke in 108.60. She also picked up a win in the 50 free in :27.85.

Hacker won the 100 breaststroke in 1:16.19.

Karst picked up a win in the 200 free in 2:13.15 and also won the 500 free in 5:58.61.

Amanda Kaiser set a personal best on the diving board with 125.05. She finished second.

Taylor Meharg also had a personal best on the board with 111.45 for fourth place.

Emily Koons finished second in the 100 free in 1:06.94.

Koons, Marissa Bannister, Taylor Feller and Marissa Murray placed third in the 200 free relay in 2:05.57.

Batt finished second in the 100 butterfly in 1:15.35.

Koons was second in the 100 free in 1:06.94.

The Lady Vikes will begin the sectional on February 5 at Warsaw.

The Vikings returhn to action on February 10 when they travel to Bluffton at 5:30 p.m.
