Four Raiders, two Tigers on all-ACAC girls’ basketball team

Four Southern Wells Raiders and two Bluffton Tigers were selected as members of the 2008-09 Allen County Athletic Conference Girls’ Basketball Team.

Seniors Meghan Prible, Kristy Penrod, Katelyn Prible and Haley Killingbeck were key members of the Raiders’ squad (20-5), which won the conference season championship with a 7-0 record.

The Pribles and Penrod, who also helped lead the Raiders on to Class A sectional and regional championships, were named to the all-conference first team, while Killingbeck was named to the second team.

Bluffton junior guard Carlie Crosbie and sophomore Natasha Patterson represent the Tigers. Crosbie was a first-team selection, while Patterson made the all-conference second team.

Other members of the first team are as follows: Madison Diederich and Lindsey Yarde of Garrett; Michelle Ripley of Adams Central; Ashton Morgan of South Adams; Kalah Baer and Alexis Meeks of Leo; Taylor Carver of Woodlan; and Courtney Faulstick of Heritage.

Completing the second team are as follows: Courtney Wisel and Heather House of Garrett; Felicia Lehman of Adams Central; Tara Beitler of South Adams; Nikki Hill and Keri Lencke of Leo; Bethany Hogue and Cassie Kayser of Woodlan; and Whitney Scott and Andrea Martin of Heritage.
